Warkentien Family History |
|
In 1961 Lou and Fay Warkentien followed God's calling to become missionaries in the country of Brazil. They are the parents of Philip who was born on the mission field and felt God's clear calling to follow on his parent's footsteps at the young age of 14. Later in seminary he met Rita, she was equally convicted in her calling to become a missionary. Rita is the youngest daughter of a very large Brazilian family who were revived through the knowledge of salvation in Jesus Christ alone. Their marriage felt just as God appointed as God's calling to missions in their lives. Now, 35+ years in ministry and marriage God's faithfulness has been clear each step of the way. They were blessed with 3 children who are all married and have one granddaughter with more to come. Their oldest Manoelita married Adam, then Philip II who married Ellen and had their first granddaughter called Aurora, and Marina who married Cade. By God's direction, Cade and Marina Amend are planning to join the mission field alongside Phil and Rita Warkentien in hopes to bolster the many ministerial efforts and further the gospel of Jesus Christ.
